P7 in support of Women with Suneet Varma


India has been endowed with some of the most beautiful women in the world who are excelling in the various walks of life’s. But, it is the idea of becoming ‘Miss India’ that breaks all boundaries. And with this dream P7 News Channel and Etasha Society presented a fashion show by Suneet Varma showcasing his ‘Resort Collection’. The aim is to help young people make right choices at the right time and enable them to lead successful and healthy lives.
Suneet Varma’s Resort Collection was presented at The Grand, Vasant Kunj on 20th March’10 titled ‘I Believe I Can’. The event was different from other fashion shows in the sense it showcased the story of an ordinary girl who goes on to become Miss India. It shows how she was given training and guidance which helped her to fulfill her dream.
Former Miss India Ms. Ekta Chaudhury played the role of a poor girl in the show. Trainees of Etasha society were also part of the show. They performed the show’s inspiring theme, I Believe I Can, which illustrated their NGO’s work. Featured models including Femina Miss India Ekta Chaudhury, Esther Jamir, Ritu Singh, Shabnam Sultana, Sahiba Singh, Sakshi Bindra, Adriyana, Binita Borah, Olesheya, Adriyene, Tamara, Lolita, Vivene and Xsenia walked the ramp.
The emcee of the show was the famous model Ramneek Pantal and celebrities like Sushma Seth, Bharti Taneja, were amongst a few to grace the occasion.
“I have been part of countless shows, but this one has been as different as it had a social message attached, it is featured uniquely and also stretches my creativity. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and I am confident that people will love the Resort Collections,” said Suneet Varma after presenting the fabulous resort collection.

If you look at our channel’s logo even that says ‘Ek Umeed’, which means ‘a ray of hope’ and this programme also comes as a ray of hope to many aspiring girls. The show was organized in support of the Etasha society that works for the training of youths. The vision is that every young Indian should be employable, have self worth and lead a dignified and productive life.

The opening ceremony of IPL 2010 witnessed stars from Indian film Fraternity like Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Deepika Padukone and international artists like Akon, Abba Revival, Lionel Richie, Ali Campbell of UB20’s and Bjorn. There was glitter, glamour, drama and loads of fun at the opening ceremony of season 3 IPL 2010. The familiar Oscar and Grammy winning ‘Jai Ho’ song then filled the air with fun and a breathtaking laser show was put up for fans.

Mumbai Indians represent Mumbai for the IPL. The team is lead by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, the iconic player of the Mumbai team. This team is owned by the Reliance Industries Chairman, Mukesh Ambani. The players of the team are Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Sanath Jayasurya etc. They are joined by Lasith Malinga who can be almost unplayable if he gets his length right. Mumbai Indians have also signed up a couple of players from the ICL - Ambati Rayudu and R Sathish who will add value to the side.

P7 News Channel is the official media partner of FIH World Cup Tournament-2010. The Tournament has started from 28th February and will go on till 13th March 2010 at Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, India. The 2010 World Cup will be the 12th installment of the tournament and the second to be held in India.

Pearls Broadcasting Corporation Ltd. will host stalls at the National stadium; P7 News Channel will have the privilege to interview the worldwide hockey stars be it on the National stadium ground or their green room or at the Le Meridian Hotel where the players are staying during the period. Every on and off ground exclusive stories related to hockey players will be telecasted regularly on P7 News Channel.

The 12 teams of Hockey are split into two groups –Pool A and Pool B and will play each side in their group once before the classification matches take place. The teams as follows in Pool A: Argentina, Canada, Germany, Korea, Netherlands, and New Zealand and Pool B: Australia, England, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Spain. The series of games started at 10.30 am on 28th February 2010.

Hockey enthusiasts across India were thrilled to immediately witness one of the most eagerly awaited matches when host India faced Pakistan at the beginning of the Hockey event and won the match.

Germany is the current holder and a win in New Delhi will see them become the first to win the trophy for the third consecutive time. England’s defender Ali Wilson is very confident about his team and targets the World Cup glory. India has also pulled up their socks and has geared up to give a power packed performance. Prabhjot Singh, the Indian striker from Punjab is very excited about his team and aiming the World Cup.
